Season’s Greetings?

Please spare a few moments to think about our WIMA sisters in Ukraine, especially those living in places with constant missile and drone strikes, loss of safe shelter and no power for heat and light.

For all women, children and men around the world experiencing violence and death and who are relying upon people like Donald Trump to save them, this is the man who said on Friday 26th December in an interview with Politico before meeting President Zalensky on Sunday, “He doesn’t have anything until I approve it, “so we’ll see what he’s got.”  – Are we back to the same old Oval Office card game?

Meanwhile our WIMA sisters in the Baltic countries live with the threat of war with Russia if Ukraine falls.

And what does Great Britain do whilst parts of Europe burn? Argue about who can use public toilets, fail to build enough homes, start but fail to complete major transport infrastructure projects, oversee increased unemployment, increased cost of living whilst the rich get richer and the poor fight to survive and now lock up people who support the right for Palestinian people to live and work their own land in the face of Israeli Settler aggression.

Whatever happened to the 1940’s peace dividend created in Europe when the last right-wing empire-builders were defeated at great cost and loss of life to ordinary people?

The world leaders are destroying the future of our world by killing young men and women whilst people like Musk and Trump make huge profits for personal gain and Putin reinforces his personal power base.

All the Ukrainians want is to be able to live peacefully in their own country.

I hope, for all of our sakes, that 2026 is not as bad as it is looking it will be.

Best wishes.
